IT'S ALL OVER BUT THE CRYING!

We have done it! We posted our last LOs for the Race and the links have been emailed and now we wait. I wonder how hard it will be to scrap with my fingers crossed for the next few days? That Grand Prize is HUGE! That software is worth the race by itself.

I have learned some things along the way and made a great new friend in my teammate, Joni. We already have had conversations about "doing it" again next time. GOOD LUCK everyone, it has been a great 6 weeks.

WOW, almost at the end!

Can't believe there is only one more challenge. This has been a lot of fun. I have really enjoyed doing this race. The best part is having made a new friend... my partner Judy. I have enjoyed looking at all the other teams layouts. Got some really neat ideas for future layouts. I too am looking forward to season 3. Judy and I have already decided to be partners for season 3. I would like to wish everyone "Good Luck" in the grand prize drawing. See ya at the finish line!

Last Week!

Boy this race has gone fast! We are now at the last week and what a fun challenge this was. I had no problem with knowing exactly what I would scrap. This whole race certainly has been quite an experience. I have seen so many great pages and gotten lots of inspiration for my future work. I'm already looking forward to ADSR 3. I hope the last challenge for this Race will be as much fun as this last one was.

Half Way Done

I can't believe that the Race is half over now. It seems like it took forever for it to finally begin and now we are already to the halfway point. Challenge #6 was a real roadblock. I have no problem with mixing up kits and designers, I do it all the time, but not to the tune of 15 different designers. One thing I learned from this challenge was that I REALLY need to reorganize all my "stuff". I thought I was going to go blind looking through it all for just the right piece I needed.

It's been an eventful week for me. Good news and bad news. The good news is that I was asked to be on Emma Moore's CT and I accepted. The bad news is that my refrigerator died and I had to buy a new one. That sure wasn't in my budget this month!

I get so excited when I see all the places visitors to our blog are located. I just wish some of them would have left a comment. I love "meeting" new people. The whole internet thing still is amazing to me.

Oh, well---on to Challenge 7! Good luck all.

Journaling Challenge

I was all prepared to dislike Challenge #5, but once I really read it, I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap. I just didn't know what I was gong to do to get it on paper. Journaling has never been my strong point. My LOs usually consist of pictures with a few identifiers on the pictures and a date. After I started scrapping, it just seemed to come together. I enjoyed this one after all. This Race is certainly taking me out of my comfort zone, as I guess it was intended.

We Made It Through Week 2

Wasn't this a strange week for challenges? Or was it just me? Both of these challenges were ones that if I were given a choice of doing or not doing them--I would have to pass on. Anyway, I did them and am hoping for a couple of challenges next week that I will enjoy. If not, it could be a long month ahead of me. Maybe I just need an "attitude adjustment".

What A Pain!

Boy, doing challenge 3 was not easy for me. I guess I am not much into wishes and what if. I finally was able to put something together, but hope the next challenge will be more to my liking. Joni has really been so supportive and making me feel like I could get through this challenge.

It's official that we made it to Round 2--because we got our download links for the gifts for Challenges 1 and 2. Very nice gifts too, I might add. I did have a problem with link 1 from PBP. But, hopefully they should get it fixed.

Challenge #3

Wow, can't believe #3 is already here. The challenge was posted early....on Saturday. It was a bit confusing too. It sounded like it was a challenge just for that site. I have already done the challenge. You can see it my clicking on my ADSR gallery link on the right sidebar. My poor partner, Judy doesn't like this challenge. She is having a time trying to come up with a layout for this one. I'm sure what ever she does will be great. Hope everyone is having as much fun with this as I am.

Phew, it's over

Sure feel better now that the first week is over. I feel like I will be able to do this. Having an awesome partner that is retired sure does help....Thanks Judy. I can't wait to see what the next challenge will be. Whatever it will be I know we are ready and waiting.

The First Week is Now History!

Our layout is posted and our official email sent so we can sit back and enjoy our weekend. It was kind of hectic for a while early this morning when I went to the challenge site and couldn't see it. Peope were talking about the challenge and commenting on the kit that we will get if we complete the challenge and no matter what I did, I couldn't see it. Finally the site administrator changed someting and IT appeared. We chose a simple approach for our page. Other than having a large photo of me on it---I like it. I don't know about anyone else, but I feel much better about getting in this Race now that the initial challenges are done. It wasn't all that scary (except for the invisible challenge). LOL

Joni and I are both looking forward to a couple of chats tonight.

The Race is On!

I looked at the first challenge this morning and knew I could do that. I have actually already finished my first LO for the race and posted it in my gallery at GDS. Poor Joni has to work so she can't work on her LOs during the day. At times like these, it is very nice to be retired. I hope you will click on the link to the right and look at my LO and leave me a comment.

Coming Down To The Wire

Well, it is almost that time. I don't know about any of you, but I am not doing much but reviewing all the "stuff" I have available on my computer for use in meeting the challenges. I'm not doing any LOs --I'm saving all my creative juices for the big Race. I'm afraid that I might make a LO, post it, and then find that it would have been the "perfect" page I needed for the current challenge. LOL

I am so glad to see that we have had quite a few visitors. I just wish they had left comments. I love leaving them and reading them.

I still can't manage to get a title to my posts, but I did get our blinkie working so I guess that is some progress. I had fun today just going to several of the other race blogs and looking them over. Being retired has its advantages. There has been an awful lot of work already done and the race doesn't start for 5 more days. The excitement is building.

Monday, July 9, 2007

It's official! We are registered and have a blinkie and are more anxious than ever to get started. Can you believe that there have been over 150 team applications for the race? This should be quite an interesting 6 weeks. The grand prize value just keeps growing too. Now it is over $800 per team member. I don't know about getting the GP--right now I just hope I don't embarrass myself.

My brain is Fried!

I think I'm getting to old to try and cram all this new blogger stuff into my brain. I still can't get the blinkie to work on the blog or anywhere else for that matter. One thing this race has done is teach me new "techie stuff". I wouldn't have bothered with a lot of the stuff I've been doing the last couple of days. I love checking out all the new "Race Blogs". I'm even thinking of blog lifting some ideas. I'm off to bed now. Ya'll have a good night and better day tomorrow.

Saturday, July 7, 2007

I am excited to be teaming up with Joni for this event. We are both fairly new digiscrapers and hope to just have fun and maybe learn a little more about what I have come to love doing. Joni has done all the hard preliminary work, signing us up, making this blog and coming up with a name for our team. I am really looking forward to seeing all the great pages everyone will come up with during the 6 weeks. I'm not sure what I have let myself in for, but I am anxious to begin.

Oh shoot!

I forgot to tell you about our sleeping little boy. He is Judy's grandson Eli. Would you believe he is almost 2 now? They sure do grow up fast! I would also like to wish everyone Good Luck in the race. Hope to hear from some of you fellow racers soon. Just leave a comment here on the blog if you like.

We are committed... To the race that is!

Only 9 more days to the kick off of the Amazing Digi Scrap Race. I am teamed up with a wonderful lady from Texas. We both members at godigitalscrapbooks.com. There are a bunch of us from there that have paired up for the race. I am really looking forward to having a lot of fun with this. It should mean a chance to make new friends and maybe try new things with my layouts. Please check in with us from time to time to see how we are doing. We sure would love to hear some encouraging words. Unit next time, stay safe.
