A New Year and a New Race

Okay, here we go again. The 4th season of the Amazing Race is only a few hours from starting. I hope there will be a lot of new challenges to do this race. Last race it seemed like the hosts were trying to out do each other on the amount of stuff we had to put on a page. I found those layouts hard to do. I don't scrap like that. My pages are simple and uncluttered. Good luck to everyone.

First Challenge Done!

I too enjoyed this first challenge. I actually got to scrap some pictures I have had around for a while. I also got to use my favorite colors! For a while, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get this done. I woke up about 12:30 this morning and was just going to quickly check if the challenge had been posted--and it had. So, instead of just leaving it alone, I opened up my PS and started scrapping and GUESS WHAT--MY COMPUTER CRASHED! I reloaded my windows from my disks and my computer worked great except that I could not connect to the internet. After many hours and many tears, I'm back up and running (so far anyway). I am so glad that all my scrapbooking supplies and PS pages are on my external drive and I didn't lose any of that. I am pooped. I haven't been to sleep all day and half the night. I know it will be an early night for me tonight.

First Challenge!

I really like the first challenge for Season 3. The only problem I have is who to pick. Since I have 7 grandchildren I can't single out just one. So I think I will be doing a page about my daughter. She makes me laugh, cry and oh yes sometimes she makes me mad. Now that she is all grown up and has children of her own it amazes her how I did it all when she was young. I had her and her brother, who is just one year older then her, and no help from her dad. It wasn't cool back then for the dads to help with the kids and house. Sure glad that has changed. Makes it a little easier for mothers who also work. I guess I am off to work on this layout. I hope I can get it just right. I really want to show what my daughter means to me. Wish me luck!

OUR NEW TEAM BLINKIE

We finally have a NEW team blinkie thanks to Trish over at NDISB. I think she did a marvelous job. Now all we have to do is wait until Friday night for the kick off chat. That should be a lot of fun. I have been a really lazy scrapper lately so I am hoping that the Race will get me back into the swing of things again. I am looking forward to the first challenge this weekend and seeing all the creative pages everyone comes up with this time around. Having each challenge in its own place will make it so much easier to see all the pages and to comment on each one (we ALL like a little love now and then). GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Here We Go Again!

Well Judy and I have signed up for another round. Can't wait for the race to begin. Last season was a blast. I'm looking forward to being at the kick off chat. Hope to "meet" a lot of new people this go around. Will be busy checking out all the blogs, hope people will come by and give us a howdy too.

IT'S ALL OVER BUT THE CRYING!

We have done it! We posted our last LOs for the Race and the links have been emailed and now we wait. I wonder how hard it will be to scrap with my fingers crossed for the next few days? That Grand Prize is HUGE! That software is worth the race by itself.

I have learned some things along the way and made a great new friend in my teammate, Joni. We already have had conversations about "doing it" again next time. GOOD LUCK everyone, it has been a great 6 weeks.

WOW, almost at the end!

Can't believe there is only one more challenge. This has been a lot of fun. I have really enjoyed doing this race. The best part is having made a new friend... my partner Judy. I have enjoyed looking at all the other teams layouts. Got some really neat ideas for future layouts. I too am looking forward to season 3. Judy and I have already decided to be partners for season 3. I would like to wish everyone "Good Luck" in the grand prize drawing. See ya at the finish line!

Last Week!

Boy this race has gone fast! We are now at the last week and what a fun challenge this was. I had no problem with knowing exactly what I would scrap. This whole race certainly has been quite an experience. I have seen so many great pages and gotten lots of inspiration for my future work. I'm already looking forward to ADSR 3. I hope the last challenge for this Race will be as much fun as this last one was.

Half Way Done

I can't believe that the Race is half over now. It seems like it took forever for it to finally begin and now we are already to the halfway point. Challenge #6 was a real roadblock. I have no problem with mixing up kits and designers, I do it all the time, but not to the tune of 15 different designers. One thing I learned from this challenge was that I REALLY need to reorganize all my "stuff". I thought I was going to go blind looking through it all for just the right piece I needed.

It's been an eventful week for me. Good news and bad news. The good news is that I was asked to be on Emma Moore's CT and I accepted. The bad news is that my refrigerator died and I had to buy a new one. That sure wasn't in my budget this month!

I get so excited when I see all the places visitors to our blog are located. I just wish some of them would have left a comment. I love "meeting" new people. The whole internet thing still is amazing to me.

Oh, well---on to Challenge 7! Good luck all.
